Kepler-1241 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1241 is a star 3160 light-years away, with one planet in orbit. The star is 4.68 billion years old, with a mass of 0.84 solar masses and a radius of 0.8 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 5260 K.

The one known planet, Kepler-1241 b, is classified as Neptune-like, a size class that extends to four times Earth's radius. It was discovered by the transit method in 2016, when it passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and produced a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips helped establish its orbital period. That period is 18.6 days, and its radius is 2.63 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
