Kepler-1555 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant Stellar System

Kepler-1555 is a star located 6570 light-years from Earth. It hosts one known planet and has a mass of 1.04 solar masses, a radius of 1.06 solar radii, and a temperature of 5870 K, which is hotter than the Sun's. Its age is 4.37 billion years.

The planet Kepler-1555 b is a Super-Earth, a size class that compares radius with Earth's and reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1555 b has a radius of 1.61 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 8.11 days.
