Kepler-1207 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1207 is a star located 5720 light-years away. It has one known planet. The star is 3.63 billion years old and holds 1.06 solar masses, with a radius of 1.06 solar radii and a temperature of 5910 K. Its reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1207 b is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1207 b orbits every 13.7 days and has a radius of 1.62 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
