psi1 Dra B b: A Planet Orbiting a Sun-Like Star

The star psi1 Dra B is a G0 V dwarf, a Sun-like star with a reported age of 3.3 billion years. Its mass estimate of 1.19 solar masses is larger than the Sun's, and its temperature of 6210 K is hotter than the Sun's. This host lies 74.1 light-years away and has a single known planet.

That planet, psi1 Dra B b, was discovered in 2015 using the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. It has a minimum mass of 486 Earth masses, roughly 1.53 times Jupiter's mass and larger than Earth's. A minimum mass is a lower bound on a planet's true mass, since the orbital tilt is generally unknown. The planet completes one orbit every 3120 days.
