mu Leo and Its Planet

mu Leo is a K2 III star 106 light-years from Earth, with an age of 3.35 billion years, a mass of 1.5 solar masses, a radius of 11.4 solar radii, and a temperature of 4540 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, while its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, mu Leo b, was discovered in 2014 by the radial velocity method, which measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion. Its minimum mass is 763 Earth masses, roughly 2.4 times Jupiter's mass and larger than Earth's. mu Leo b completes an orbit every 358 days.
