WASP-91 and Its Giant Planet

WASP-91 is a K3 star located 489 light-years away. Its reported mass estimate is 0.84 solar masses and its reported radius estimate is 0.86 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. The star's reported temperature is 4920 K, cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is WASP-91 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2017. Its radius is 11.5 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 426 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 1.34 times Jupiter's mass. It completes an orbit in 2.8 days. Its mean density is 1.52 g/cm³, 0.277 times Earth's.
