WASP-8 is a G8 V star located 293 light-years away, with two known planets orbiting it. The star's spectral type places it in the same broad temperature class as the Sun, and it is a main-sequence dwarf. Its reported mass is 1.07 solar masses, slightly larger than the Sun's, while its reported radius of 0.96 solar radii is slightly smaller than the Sun's. The star is cooler than the Sun, with a temperature of 5690 K, and has an age of 3 billion years.
WASP-8 b is a Jupiter-like planet discovered by the transit method in 2010. It has a reported mass of 807 Earth masses and a radius of 12.7 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's. Its mass is roughly 2.54 times Jupiter's mass, and its mean density is 2.19 g/cm³, which is 0.397 times Earth's. WASP-8 b completes an orbit in 8.16 days, giving it the shortest year among the listed planets.
WASP-8 c was discovered by radial velocity in 2013. Its minimum mass is 3000 Earth masses, which is larger than Earth's and roughly 9.45 times Jupiter's mass. A minimum mass is a lower bound on the planet's true mass, so the actual mass could be higher. WASP-8 c has an orbital period of 4320 days, the longest year among the listed planets.
