WASP-164 is a Sun-like star 1070 light-years away. It is a G2 V dwarf with 0.946 solar masses and 0.932 solar radii, the latter smaller than the Sun's radius. Its temperature is 5810 K and its age is 4.08 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this star.
That planet, WASP-164 b, was discovered in 2018 by the transit method, in which a planet dims its star's light as it crosses in front of it. It is classified as Jupiter-like, meaning its radius exceeds four times Earth's. Its mass is 677 Earth masses, roughly 2.13 times Jupiter's mass, and its radius is 12.6 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's corresponding values. Its mean density is 1.85 g/cm³, 0.335 times Earth's. WASP-164 b completes an orbit in 1.78 days.
