WASP-141 b: A Jupiter-Like Planet

WASP-141 is a star 1680 light-years away with a spectral type of F9. Its reported mass estimate is 1.25 solar masses, its reported radius estimate is 1.37 solar radii, and its reported temperature is 5900 K, all larger or hotter than the Sun's corresponding values. The star's age is given as a reported lower limit of 5 billion years. One planet orbits this host.

WASP-141 b is a Jupiter-like planet discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It has an orbital period of 3.31 days and a mass of 855 Earth masses, roughly 2.69 times Jupiter's mass. Its radius is 13.6 Earth radii. Both its reported mass estimate and its reported radius estimate are larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 1.89 g/cm³, 0.343 times Earth's.
