WASP-130 b: A Jupiter-Like Planet in Transit

WASP-130 is a G6 star 562 light-years away, with a reported lower limit of 2 billion years on its age, 1.04 solar masses, 0.96 solar radii, and a temperature of 5630 K. Its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

WASP-130 b is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class that describes radius rather than composition. Discovered by transit in 2016, it has an orbital period of 11.6 days, a mass of 391 Earth masses, and a radius of 9.98 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's, and its reported mass estimate is larger than Earth's - roughly 1.23 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 2.17 g/cm³, 0.394 times Earth's.
