TOI-912 and Its Super-Earth

TOI-912 is a small, cool red dwarf star of spectral type M3, located 85.2 light-years from Earth. Its mass is 0.418 solar masses and its radius is 0.419 solar radii, making both smaller than the Sun's corresponding values. The star's temperature is 3570 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. Its age carries a reported lower limit of 0.8 billion years. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, TOI-912 b, was discovered in 2025 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class reaching 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.93 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 5.1 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. It completes one orbit every 4.68 days. Its mean density is 3.91 g/cm³, 0.709 times Earth's.
