TOI-6716 and Its Sub-Earth Planet

TOI-6716 is an M4 star 61.6 light-years away. An M-type dwarf is a small, cool red dwarf, and this one has a mass of 0.223 solar masses, a radius of 0.231 solar radii, and a temperature of 3110 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-6716 b, a Sub-Earth, meaning its radius is smaller than Earth's. It was found by transit, the dimming of a star's brightness as a planet crosses in front of it, and was announced in 2026. Its radius is 0.982 Earth radii and its orbital period is 4.72 days.
