TOI-6651 b: A Jupiter-like Planet

TOI-6651 is a star 692 light-years away with an age of 3.71 billion years, a mass of 1.32 solar masses, a radius of 1.72 solar radii, and a temperature of 5940 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

TOI-6651 b is a Jupiter-like planet discovered by transit in 2024. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish orbital periods. This planet's orbital period is 5.06 days. Its radius of 5.09 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, and its mass of 61 Earth masses is also larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 2.55 g/cm³, 0.463 times Earth's.
