TOI-6303 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-6303 is a star 496 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 6.4 billion years old, with a mass of 0.644 solar masses and a radius of 0.609 solar radii. Its temperature is 3980 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet TOI-6303 b was discovered by transit in 2025, with repeated dips in the star's brightness helping to establish its orbital period. It completes an orbit every 9.49 days. This Jupiter-like planet has a radius of 11.6 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its mass is 2490 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 7.84 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 8.82 g/cm³, 1.6 times Earth's.
