TOI-5788: A Cooler, Smaller Star with Two Super-Earths

TOI-5788 is a star located 318 light-years away. It has 0.87 solar masses and 0.87 solar radii, making both its reported mass and radius estimates smaller than the Sun's. Its reported temperature of 5620 K is cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 5.72 billion years. Two planets are known to orbit this star.

Both planets were discovered by transit in 2026, the method in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-5788 b is a Super-Earth with a mass of 3.72 Earth masses and a radius of 1.53 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 5.75 g/cm³, 1.04 times Earth's, and it completes an orbit every 6.34 days. TOI-5788 c is also a Super-Earth, with a mass of 6.4 Earth masses and a radius of 2.27 Earth radii, again larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 3.01 g/cm³, 0.546 times Earth's, and its orbital period is 16.2 days.

Among the listed planets, TOI-5788 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, at 6.34 days, as well as the smallest radius, at 1.53 Earth radii, and the smallest reported mass, at 3.72 Earth masses. TOI-5788 c has the longest year by reported estimates, at 16.2 days, along with the largest radius, at 2.27 Earth radii, and the largest reported mass, at 6.4 Earth masses.
