TOI-5728 b: An Earth-Sized World Around a Small Cool Star

TOI-5728 is a star 178 light-years from Earth with one known planet, TOI-5728 b. The star is smaller than the Sun, with a radius of 0.376 solar radii and a mass of 0.364 solar masses, and its temperature of 3440 K is cooler than the Sun's.

TOI-5728 b was discovered in 2025 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. The planet completes an orbit every 11.5 days.

With a radius of 1.31 Earth radii, TOI-5728 b is larger than Earth and falls within the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.
