TOI-5716 b: A Sub-Earth Orbiting a Cool, Dim Star

TOI-5716 is a star located 129 light-years from Earth. It hosts one known planet. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, at 0.195 solar masses. Its reported radius estimate is also smaller than the Sun's, at 0.226 solar radii. The star's reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's, at 3330 K.

The host star's one known planet is TOI-5716 b, discovered in 2025 by the transit method. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-5716 b completes one orbit every 6.77 days. Its radius is 0.96 Earth radii, placing it in the Sub-Earth size class, which compares radius with Earth's: a Sub-Earth is smaller than Earth.
