TOI-558 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-558 is a main-sequence F-type dwarf star 1310 light-years away, and one planet orbits it. The star is 1.79 billion years old, holds 1.35 solar masses, spans 1.5 solar radii, and has a temperature of 6470 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The single known planet, TOI-558 b, was found by the transit method in 2021. It completes one orbit every 14.6 days. With a radius of 12.2 Earth radii, it falls into the Jupiter-like size class, which covers planets exceeding 4 times Earth's radius; its reported radius is larger than Earth's. TOI-558 b's mass estimate of 1150 Earth masses is also larger than Earth's and is roughly 3.61 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 3.5 g/cm³, 0.636 times Earth's.
