TOI-5110 b: A Jupiter-Like Planet in a Distant System

TOI-5110 is a star located 1280 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star's reported mass estimate is 1.47 solar masses, larger than the Sun's, and its reported radius estimate is 2.33 solar radii, also larger than the Sun's. Its reported temperature is 6160 K, hotter than the Sun's, and its age carries a reported lower limit of 4 billion years.

The planet, TOI-5110 b, was discovered in 2024 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as Jupiter-like, exceeding 4 times Earth's radius, and its radius estimate is 12 Earth radii. Its mass estimate is 922 Earth masses, roughly 2.9 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 2.95 g/cm³, 0.536 times Earth's. TOI-5110 b completes an orbit every 30.2 days.
