TOI-4438: A Nearby Red Dwarf and Its Super-Earth

TOI-4438 is an M3.5 V star, a small, cool red dwarf, located 98 light-years away. It hosts one known planet, TOI-4438 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2024. The star is 5.1 billion years old, with a mass of 0.368 solar masses and a radius of 0.372 solar radii. Its temperature is 3420 K, so it is cooler than the Sun, and both its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's.

TOI-4438 b orbits with a period of 7.45 days. Its radius is 2.4 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, placing it within the Super-Earth size class. Its mass is 4.11 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. The planet's mean density is 1.64 g/cm³, 0.297 times Earth's.
