TOI-3235 and Its Lone Planet

TOI-3235 is a small, cool red dwarf of spectral type M V, located 237 light-years away. Its mass is 0.394 solar masses, its radius is 0.37 solar radii, and its temperature is 3390 K. All three measurements fall below the Sun's corresponding values. One planet orbits this star.

That planet, TOI-3235 b, was discovered in 2023 by the transit method. Its radius of 11.4 Earth radii places it in the Jupiter-like size class, since that class exceeds 4 times Earth's radius, and it is larger than Earth. Its mass is 211 Earth masses, also larger than Earth, and its mean density is 0.786 g/cm³, 0.143 times Earth's. It completes one orbit every 2.59 days.
