TOI-220 b: A Neptune-Like World Around a Cool Dwarf

TOI-220 is a K0 V star - a cool, main-sequence dwarf - located 296 light-years away. It is older than the Sun at 10.1 billion years and has a mass of 0.825 solar masses, a radius of 0.858 solar radii, and a temperature of 5300 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler.

One planet orbits this host: TOI-220 b. Discovered by the transit method in 2021, it is a Neptune-like planet, a size class that reaches four times Earth's radius. Its radius is 3.03 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 13.8 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. The planet completes an orbit every 10.7 days, and its mean density is 2.73 g/cm³, 0.496 times Earth's.
