TOI-2169 A b: A Transiting Jupiter-like World

TOI-2169 A is a star 1150 light-years away with a mass of 1.42 solar masses, a radius of 1.82 solar radii, and a temperature of 6270 K. Its age is 2.51 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this star. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

That planet, TOI-2169 A b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2025. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-2169 A b has a mass of 330 Earth masses and a radius of 12.5 Earth radii; both its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 8.21 days. Its mean density is 0.928 g/cm³, 0.168 times Earth's.
