TOI-2088 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

TOI-2088 is a star 412 light-years away whose reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's and whose reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's. Its reported temperature of 5080 K is cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 4.5 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, TOI-2088 b, was discovered by transit in 2024. Transit means the planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. TOI-2088 b is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius of 3.68 Earth radii is larger than Earth's. Its mass is a reported upper limit of 37 Earth masses. Its orbital period is 125 days.
