TOI-1814 and Its Lone Known Planet

TOI-1814 is a single-star system 1180 light-years away, and it is known to host one planet. Its star has a radius of 2.39 solar radii, larger than the Sun's, and a temperature of 4870 K, cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, TOI-1814 b, was found by transit in 2026. In this method, a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish its orbital period. TOI-1814 b completes an orbit every 6.37 days and has a radius of 5.19 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius puts it among the Jupiter-like planets, a class exceeding 4 times Earth's radius.
