TOI-1444: A Sun-Like Star and Its Close-Orbiting Planet

TOI-1444 is a G-type star located 409 light-years away. It has a mass of 0.88 solar masses and a radius of 0.91 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature of 5380 K is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this star.

TOI-1444 b was discovered by the transit method in 2021, when the planet passed in front of its star and caused a small dip in observed brightness. It is an Earth-like planet, with a radius of 1.42 Earth radii and a mass of 3.58 Earth masses, both larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 6.92 g/cm³, 1.26 times Earth's. TOI-1444 b completes one orbit in just 0.47 days, making it an extremely close and fast-orbiting world.
