TOI-1437 b: A Super-Earth in a Nearby System

TOI-1437 is a star 337 light-years away with a mass of 1.01 solar masses and a radius of 1.26 solar radii, making it larger than the Sun. Its temperature is 5990 K, hotter than the Sun, and its age is 6.7 billion years. One planet orbits this star.

That planet is TOI-1437 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2024. A transit occurs when a planet crosses in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet has a mass of 9.6 Earth masses and a radius of 2.24 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's corresponding values. Its mean density is 4.71 g/cm³, 0.854 times Earth's. TOI-1437 b completes an orbit every 18.8 days.
