TOI-132 b: A Neptune-like World Around a Sun-like Star

TOI-132 is a star 534 light-years away. It is a G8 V star, a G-type main-sequence dwarf, with a mass of 0.97 solar masses and a radius of 0.9 solar radii, smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 5400 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 6.34 billion years. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-132 b, a Neptune-like planet discovered in 2020 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It has a mass of 22.4 Earth masses and a radius of 3.42 Earth radii, both larger than Earth's corresponding values. Its mean density is 3.09 g/cm³, 0.56 times Earth's. TOI-132 b completes an orbit every 2.11 days.
