TOI-1295: A Jupiter-Like Planet Around an F-Type Star

TOI-1295 is a star 1270 light-years away with one known planet. The host is an F-type star with a mass of 1.38 solar masses, a radius of 1.7 solar radii, and a temperature of 6280 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature are all larger or hotter than the Sun's. The star is 2 billion years old.

The single planet, TOI-1295 b, is a Jupiter-like world discovered in 2024 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It has a mass of 451 Earth masses, roughly 1.42 times Jupiter's mass, and a radius of 15.7 Earth radii. Both its mass and radius are larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.644 g/cm³, 0.117 times Earth's. TOI-1295 b completes an orbit in 3.2 days.
