TOI-1227 is an M-type dwarf, a small, cool red dwarf, lying 328 light-years away. The star has a mass of 0.17 solar masses, a radius of 0.56 solar radii, and a temperature of 3070 K, all of which are smaller or cooler than the Sun's corresponding values. It is extremely young, with an age of 0.011 billion years. One planet is known to orbit this host.
That planet is TOI-1227 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2022. It completes an orbit every 27.4 days, and its radius of 9.57 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
