TOI-1224: A Cool Dwarf with Two Transiting Planets

TOI-1224 is a star 122 light-years away with a reported mass of 0.396 solar masses and a radius of 0.404 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature of 3390 K is cooler than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this host, both discovered by transit in 2024, the method in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness.

TOI-1224 b is a Super-Earth with a reported radius of 2.1 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 4.18 days. TOI-1224 c is a Neptune-like planet with a reported radius of 2.88 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 17.9 days.

Among the listed planets, TOI-1224 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates, while TOI-1224 c has the longest year and the largest radius by reported estimates.
