TAP 26 is a star 396 light-years away with a single known planet in orbit around it. The host star has a reported mass estimate of 0.69 solar masses, smaller than the Sun's, and a radius of 0.916 solar radii. Its reported temperature of 4410 K is cooler than the Sun's.
The one known planet is TAP 26 b, discovered in 2017 using the radial velocity method. This technique measures the wobble a planet's gravity induces in its star's motion; repeated wobbles reveal the planet and its orbital period. TAP 26 b has a minimum mass of 528 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass rather than an ordinary estimate. That minimum mass is larger than Earth's and roughly 1.66 times Jupiter's mass. The planet completes an orbit every 10.8 days.
