PSR J2322-2650 is a pulsar, the small dense remnant of a massive star, located 750 light-years away. Its reported mass estimate is 1.4 solar masses, larger than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.
PSR J2322-2650 b was discovered in 2017 by pulsar timing, which detects planets by measuring the clock-like radio pulses of a pulsar; tiny shifts in the pulse schedule reveal orbiting planets. The planet's minimum mass is 253 Earth masses, larger than Earth's, and its orbital period is 0.323 days. A minimum mass is a lower bound on a planet's true mass, differing from an ordinary mass estimate.
