PSR B0329+54 and Its Planet

PSR B0329+54 is a pulsar, the small dense remnant of a massive star, and its reported mass estimate is 1.44 solar masses, larger than the Sun's. Astronomers have found one planet orbiting this host. Pulsar timing detects planets by measuring the clock-like radio pulses of a pulsar; tiny shifts in the pulse schedule reveal orbiting planets.

That planet is PSR B0329+54 b, discovered in 2017 by pulsar timing. Its minimum mass is 1.97 Earth masses, a lower bound on its true mass and larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 10100 days.
