PH1 b: A Circumbinary Giant in a Four-Star System

PH1 is a star of spectral type F, located 3370 light-years away. Its reported mass is 1.53 solar masses, its radius is 1.73 solar radii, and its temperature is 6410 K. The star is 2 billion years old. Its reported mass and radius are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host: PH1 b.

PH1 b is a Jupiter-like planet, a class defined by a radius exceeding four times Earth's. Its radius is 6.18 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes an orbit in 138 days. It was discovered by transit in 2012. Its mass is a reported upper limit of 169 Earth masses, which is an upper bound rather than an exact value.

PH1 b is circumbinary, meaning it orbits both stars of a binary star system rather than one star alone. The PH1 system contains four cataloged stars.
