NGTS-3 A is a G6 V star, a Sun-like main-sequence dwarf, located 2430 light-years away. The star has a mass of 1.02 solar masses, a radius of 0.93 solar radii, and a temperature of 5600 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.
That planet is NGTS-3 A b, a Jupiter-like world discovered in 2018 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius of 16.6 Earth radii is larger than Earth's radius and places it well beyond the Jupiter-like class threshold. Its mass of 756 Earth masses is also larger than Earth's and is roughly 2.38 times Jupiter's mass. The planet completes an orbit in 1.68 days. Its mean density is 0.913 g/cm³, 0.166 times Earth's.
