M62H b: A Pulsar's Close-Orbiting Companion

M62H is a pulsar, the small dense remnant of a massive star. Its reported mass estimate is 1.4 solar masses, larger than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is M62H b, discovered in 2024 by pulsar timing, which detects planets by measuring the clock-like radio pulses of a pulsar; tiny shifts in the pulse schedule reveal orbiting planets. M62H b has a reported lower limit of 785.03616529 Earth masses, and its orbital period is 0.133 days.
