Kepler-985 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-985 is a star located 2220 light-years away. It has one known planet. The host star is 3.39 billion years old, with a mass of 0.91 solar masses and a radius of 0.85 solar radii. Its temperature is 5430 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-985 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-985 b is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 2.98 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 116 days.
