Kepler-935 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-935 is a star located 1540 light-years away. It is 3.8 billion years old and has a mass of 0.78 solar masses, a radius of 0.73 solar radii, and a temperature of 4830 K. Each of these values is smaller or cooler than the corresponding value for the Sun. One planet orbits this host: Kepler-935 b.

Kepler-935 b was discovered by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness, with repeated dips helping establish its orbital period. It completes one orbit every 4.88 days and has a radius of 1.35 Earth radii. That radius places it in the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius, and it is larger than Earth.
