Kepler-928 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-928 is a star located 1660 light-years away, and one planet orbits it. The host star is estimated to be 4.37 billion years old, with a mass of 0.73 solar masses and a radius of 0.7 solar radii; both its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 4700 K, cooler than the Sun's.

The planet, Kepler-928 b, was discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, producing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-928 b completes an orbit every 3.93 days. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius, and its reported radius estimate of 1.59 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
