Kepler-916 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-916 is a star located 2710 light-years away. It has one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 4.79 billion years old, with a mass of 0.85 solar masses and a radius of 0.81 solar radii. Its temperature is 5250 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-916 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-916 b has an orbital period of 32.3 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit. Its radius is 1.76 Earth radii, a reported estimate larger than Earth's. In planet size classes, a Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius.
