Kepler-909 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-909 is a star 1010 light-years away with a single known planet in its system. The star is 2.88 billion years old and has a mass of 1.17 solar masses, a radius of 1.23 solar radii, and a temperature of 6150 K. Its mass and radius are both larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-909 b was discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-909 b has an orbital period of 13.9 days and a radius of 1.47 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its size class is Earth-like, meaning its radius stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
