Kepler-861 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-861 is a star located 2770 light-years away, with one known planet in orbit around it. The host star is estimated to be 4.47 billion years old, with a mass of 0.82 solar masses and a radius of 0.78 solar radii. Its temperature is 5050 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-861 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-861 b completes an orbit every 3.95 days and has a radius of 2.28 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's radius.
