Kepler-852 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-852 is a star 5280 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is estimated to be 1.48 billion years old, with a mass of 1.19 solar masses, a radius of 1.16 solar radii, and a temperature of 6100 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-852 b is Neptune-like, meaning its radius falls within the size class reaching four times Earth's radius. It was discovered by transit in 2016, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-852 b has an orbital period of 44.9 days and a radius of 2.54 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
