Kepler-833 is a star located 1520 light-years away, and one planet is listed in its orbit. The host star has an age of 3.72 billion years, a mass of 0.64 solar masses, a radius of 0.62 solar radii, and a temperature of 4340 K. Its reported mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
The system's only listed planet is Kepler-833 b, a Super-Earth discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-833 b completes an orbit every 18.8 days, and its radius is 2.02 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius places it within the Super-Earth size class, which reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius.
