Kepler-831 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-831 is a star located 1940 light-years away. It has a mass of 0.99 solar masses, a radius of 0.97 solar radii, a temperature of 5730 K, and an age of 4.17 billion years. One planet orbits this host: Kepler-831 b.

Kepler-831 b was discovered by transit in 2016, when the planet passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. It completes an orbit every 5.62 days. Its radius is 1.27 Earth radii, and its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's. That radius places it within the Earth-like class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.

Earth radii compare radius, not volume.
