Kepler-820 and Its Jupiter-like Planet

Kepler-820 is a star located 4520 light-years away, and one planet orbits it. The star is 2.63 billion years old, with a mass of 1.23 solar masses and a radius of 1.36 solar radii. Its temperature is 6260 K, hotter than the Sun's, and both its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's.

The known planet is Kepler-820 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016, when it was detected as it passed in front of its star. It completes an orbit every 128 days. Its radius is 6.09 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius places it beyond the 4-Earth-radii threshold for the Jupiter-like class, in which a planet's size class reflects its radius rather than its composition.
