Kepler-819 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-819 is a star located 2170 light-years away. It has an age of 4.47 billion years, a mass of 0.86 solar masses, a radius of 0.81 solar radii, and a temperature of 5280 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet is Kepler-819 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-819 b completes an orbit every 33.2 days and has a radius of 2.76 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its size classification compares radius with Earth's, placing it in the Neptune-like range.
