Kepler-788 and Its Neptune-like Planet

Kepler-788 is a star located 5790 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 3.02 billion years old and has a mass of 1.16 solar masses, a radius of 1.23 solar radii, and a temperature of 6160 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The sole planet in this system is Kepler-788 b, classified as Neptune-like and discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-788 b completes an orbit in 8.4 days and has a radius of 2.55 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's radius.
