Kepler-764 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-764 is a star located 3420 light-years away. It is 4.17 billion years old, has a mass of 0.92 solar masses, and a radius of 0.89 solar radii. Its temperature is 5560 K. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet, Kepler-764 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. During a transit, a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-764 b completes one orbit every 7.34 days and has a radius of 1.64 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. A Super-Earth size class reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius, so the planet's radius falls within that range.
